How do I enable and disable my 2FA?

2FA (Two-factor Authentication) is an excellent function, which adds an extra layer of security to your ChainEX account.

How to enable my 2FA?
To enable the 2FA function, follow these steps:

1. By using your mobile phone, navigate and log into the ChainEX app
2. Once you have successfully logged into the app, click the Menu button (3 horizontal lines) in the top right corner of the app.
3. Over there, click on "2FA Security"
4. You will be prompted to download the Authenticator app, if you have not downloaded the app yet, then click on the play store button and follow the prompts, if you have downloaded the app, then click on "Continue"
5. In the center of the screen, you will see a 16-character code, click the copy button to copy this code.
6. You will now need to navigate to and open the Authenticator app.
7. On the Authenticator app, click the colorful + icon in the bottom right corner
8. Select "Enter a setup key"
9. In the "Account name" field, enter the name of your account.
10. In the "Your key" field, this is where you will paste the 16-character code you copied.
11. Click on "Add"
12. Now you will need to click and hold to copy your 2FA code (do note that you would need to be quick as the 2FA code changes every 30 seconds)
13. Navigate back to the ChainEX app and click on "Continue"
14. Click on "Paste"
15. Then finally, click on "Continue"

Your 2FA (Two-factor Authentication) will now be enabled.

Please note: It is important to keep your setup key in a safe place, as it will not be displayed again. Your setup key can be used to recover your 2FA should you lose access to your device. 

How to disable my 2FA?
If you wish to disable your 2FA, follow the steps below:

1. By using your mobile phone, navigate and log into the ChainEX app
2. Once you have successfully logged into the app, click the Menu button (3 horizontal lines) in the top right corner of the app.
3. Over there, click on "2FA Security"
4. You will now need to navigate to and open the Authenticator app.
5. Click and hold to copy your 2FA code
6. Navigate back to the ChainEX app and click on "Paste"

Your 2FA (Two-factor Authentication) will now be disabled.

Please note that we do not recommend disabling your 2FA as this is an extra layer of protection for your safety.
